Engtal is seeking an experienced Motion Control Sales Engineer to drive growth across Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. This hunter‑oriented role targets motion control, machine automation, OEMs and industrial end users.
You will own opportunities from discovery through quoting and order, collaborating with engineering teams to deliver technically sound, executable solutions involving servo drives, motors, PLC/HMI, robotics and integration. Travel across the region is expected.
We're partnering with an established industrial automation and controls business looking to hire an experienced Motion Control Sales Engineer to help lead its next phase of growth. This is not a general industrial sales position. We're specifically looking for someone who understands motion control and machine automation and has experience selling into OEMs and industrial end users.
The business is entering a significant growth phase backed by substantial investment in its operations and capacity. With that expansion underway, the focus is now on accelerating the commercial side of the business and bringing in someone who can actively develop new accounts, grow revenue, and help expand the company's presence across the region.
The Role
This is a hunter-oriented technical sales position for someone who enjoys creating opportunities rather than simply maintaining an existing book of business.
You'll work directly with OEMs, engineering teams, manufacturers, and other industrial customers to identify applications and develop solutions involving:
You'll own opportunities from initial customer conversations through technical discovery, solution development, quoting, commercial negotiation, and order. The role will also work closely with engineering and applications teams to make sure solutions are technically sound and can be executed successfully.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who already knows this market. Direct motion control experience is important for this hire.
The ideal person will bring:
An engineering degree is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will absolutely be considered.
Why This Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join at an important point in the company's growth rather than stepping into a mature territory where the expectation is simply to maintain what's already there. The company is making significant investments to expand capacity and is looking for someone who can have a measurable impact on the growth of the business.
The compensation package will include a strong base salary plus performance-driven incentive compensation, with meaningful upside for someone who generates profitable new business. This position will also be eligible for an equity participation opportunity, giving the successful hire the ability to participate in the longer-term value they help create.
Location & Travel
The primary territory covers Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
This is not intended to be an everyday office position. The expectation is that the successful hire will spend their time where they can be most effective — in front of customers, developing opportunities, and growing the territory — while maintaining periodic interaction with the broader team.
Travel will primarily be driven by customer and territory needs, with additional nationwide travel as required.
If you've built your career around motion control and automation sales and are looking for an opportunity where your impact and earning potential can grow together, we'd be interested in speaking with you.
