Job summary

First American seeks an Associate Operations Counsel to provide in-house legal support focused on mortgage servicing documentation and regulatory compliance. You will research federal and state laws, review documents, and advise cross‑functional teams on regulatory changes affecting servicing operations.

The role requires a law degree, US bar admission, and 1–3 years of relevant experience, with strong research and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
• US bar admission and active standing.
• Experience in mortgage servicing regulations and documentation is preferred.
• Strong research, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal counsel focused on mortgage servicing documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Research federal/state mortgage servicing laws and ensure documents meet investor requirements.
• Review and update mortgage servicing documents and forms for regulatory alignment.
• Collaborate with operations, product, technology, and compliance teams to address questions and implement regulatory changes.
• Support client legal and compliance contacts in solving servicing related issues.
