First American, a long-standing leader in the mortgage industry, seeks an Associate Operations Counsel to provide in-house legal and regulatory guidance focused on mortgage servicing documentation and compliance. You will draft contracts, policies, and product forms, advise operations teams, and monitor changes in federal and state mortgage servicing laws.

Collaboration with product, tech, and compliance teams is essential to address servicing questions and regulatory changes.

Qualifikationen

• Law degree required.
• Admitted to practice law in the US.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in mortgage servicing regulations is typical.
• Knowledge of RESPA (Reg X) and Regulation Z (TILA) preferred.
• Experience drafting mortgage servicing documents and borrower communications.

• Provide timely, high-quality legal counsel and guidance to divisions with focus on mortgage servicing documents and regulatory compliance.
• Research federal and state mortgage servicing laws and investor requirements to keep documents compliant.
• Review and maintain mortgage servicing documents and forms for regulatory accuracy.
• Monitor changes in laws and assess impact on documents, systems, and processes.
• Collaborate with operations, product, tech, and compliance to implement regulatory changes.
• Assist clients and internal teams with mortgage servicing questions and concerns.
