Job summary

First American in Salem, Oregon seeks an Associate Operations Counsel to provide in-house legal and regulatory guidance on mortgage servicing documents and compliance. The role includes drafting contracts and forms and collaborating with operations, product, technology, and compliance teams.

Qualifications

Licensed to practice law in the US and in good standing.
Experience with residential mortgage servicing regulations and documentation.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

Provide in-house legal and regulatory advice focused on mortgage servicing documents and regulatory compliance.
Draft contracts, policies, and product forms; interface with regulatory authorities as needed.
Research and interpret federal/state mortgage servicing laws and investor requirements to ensure compliance.
Review and maintain mortgage servicing documents and forms for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on processes and systems.
Collaborate with operations, product, technology, and compliance teams to implement regulatory changes and address questions.
