Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Mortgage Originator in the United States (Texas focus) to cultivate referral networks and manage the end-to-end mortgage process. You will identify sales opportunities, coordinate with branches, and deliver excellent customer service throughout application and closing.

The role emphasizes building partnerships, executing marketing programs, and staying compliant with regulatory requirements while achieving sales and profitability goals.

Qualifications

• Typically 3–5 years of relevant mortgage/banking experience.
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending processes and regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of personal banking and real estate market.
• Excellent verbal & written communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Proactively cultivate referral networks and partnerships to build mortgage originations.
• Develop and execute marketing programs to drive mortgage business.
• Guide customers through mortgage applications and processing.
• Collaborate with branches to finalize documents and referrals for non-mortgage needs.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly.
• Build community presence through events and trade shows.
• Maintain compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze data and prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders.
