NightOwl Consulting in the United States is seeking a Quality Control Underwriter to uphold the highest standards of loan quality in the mortgage industry. The role offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth.

You will conduct thorough reviews of mortgage loan files, utilize AUS tools such as DU and LP, perform pre-funding and post-closing audits, review appraisals and income documentation, and prepare detailed QC findings with actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting or quality control experience.
• Experience with LOS (Encompass preferred) is required.
• Strong knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA, Jumbo, NON-QM and conventional guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage files for compliance with investor guidelines and company policies.
• Use AUS tools DU and LP to assess eligibility and risk.
• Conduct pre-funding and post-closing audits to identify discrepancies and fraud indicators.
• Review appraisals, income docs, credit reports for accuracy.
• Analyze data to determine creditworthiness and adherence to underwriting standards.
• Prepare quality control reports with actionable recommendations.
• Communicate audit findings to underwriting teams and management.
