You will conduct thorough reviews of mortgage loan files, utilize AUS tools such as DU and LP, perform pre-funding and post-closing audits, review appraisals and income documentation, and prepare detailed QC findings with actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting or quality control experience.
• Experience with LOS (Encompass preferred) is required.
• Strong knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA, Jumbo, NON-QM and conventional guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage files for compliance with investor guidelines and company policies.
• Use AUS tools DU and LP to assess eligibility and risk.
• Conduct pre-funding and post-closing audits to identify discrepancies and fraud indicators.
• Review appraisals, income docs, credit reports for accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough reviews of mortgage loan files to ensure compliance with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) such as Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP) to assess loan eligibility and risk.
• Perform pre-funding and post-closing audits to identify discrepancies, errors, and fraud indicators.
• Review appraisals, income documentation, credit reports, and other relevant documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze loan data and documentation to determine creditworthiness and adherence to underwriting standards, including LTV (Loan-to-Value) ratios and DTI (Debt-to-Income) ratios.
• Prepare detailed quality control reports and findings, documenting issues and providing recommendations for corrective action.
• Communicate audit results and findings to underwriting teams, management, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• 3+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, quality control, or related role.
• 3+ years of experience with LOS (Encompass preferred)
• Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, NON-QM, and conventional loan guidelines.
• Proficiency in utilizing industry tools and software, such as Encompass and ACES (Automated Compliance and Evaluation System), to conduct quality control reviews.
