Job summary

Rio Grande Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Specialist to manage mortgage processing, closing, funding and shipping while providing back-up servicing support. You’ll gather paperwork quickly and accurately, submit files for underwriting, and ensure compliance with REG, HOEPA, TRID and applicable lending rules.

The role requires strong prioritization, organization and problem-solving abilities, plus clear communication with members, title companies and real estate professionals.

Qualifications

• The Mortgage Specialist handles mortgage processing, closing, funding and shipping with accuracy.
• Must prioritize, stay organized and use solid problem solving and decision making skills.
• Uphold loan policy, HOEPA, TRID and all Federal and State Lending Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all loan documentation needed for underwriting is obtained.
• Review title binder and coordinate with borrower and loan officer to address requirements.
• Prepare closing package and balance closing disclosures with the title company.
• Coordinate loan closings with members, title companies and realtors.
• Maintain post-closing files and prepare loans for investor purchase or funding.

Education

2-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study
