Job summary

CNB Bank is seeking a Prequalification Specialist to review residential mortgage prequalification requests in line with bank policies, investor guidelines and regulatory requirements. You will analyze income, assets, liabilities, and credit information to determine preliminary borrower qualification and communicate findings professionally to lenders and staff.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to escalate issues to management when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degrees preferred.
• Experience in mortgage lending or processing preferred.
• Familiarity with LOS, underwriting, and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete mortgage prequalification requests accurately and timely.
• Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, liabilities, and other factors to determine eligibility.
• Escalates exceptions and guideline interpretation questions to management.
• Communicate prequalification decisions and documentation requirements to lenders.
• Review, process, and maintain contractor authorization requests and ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and provide service to borrowers, contractors, and partners.
