Job summary

Regions Bank in Kentucky seeks a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans through the branch network. You will complete applications, evaluate requests, and maintain client contact while promoting Regions’ loan products.

The role emphasizes building relationships with realtors, builders, and financial planners to generate external business, with compensation tied to performance and commission plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year mortgage lending experience with proven production.
• Abundant mortgage experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior Mortgage Loan Officer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, informing progress and obtaining required documentation.
• Structures loan to comply with lending practices and Federal regulations.
• Establishes detailed marketing plan including names of potential and existing customers and frequency of contact.
• Answers customer calls and walk-in customers to discuss loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing customers.
• Cross-sells other bank products and services.
• Reviews surveys and appraisals and takes steps to correct encroachments and violations.
• Participates in networking through professional and community organizations to promote loan products.
