Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to promote business, originate loans, and manage customer relationships within its financial services branch.

The role requires presenting loan options, maintaining records, and coordinating with sales and operations to streamline the funding process while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Travel and overtime may be required. A licensed MLO and degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1–2 years related experience expected.
• Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator as required by state.
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• General mortgage banking knowledge and procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and explain financing options.
• Be accessible to buyers and involved parties for updates.
• Maintain reports in origination software and CRM.
• Review new leads daily and contact them to earn business.
• Manage the loan pipeline from application to funding.
• Present loan products in sales meetings and builders’ communities.
• Coordinate with Operations for efficient processing.
• Provide disclosures to applicants in a timely, compliant manner.
• Remain professional and ethical to support customers and the firm.
• Work overtime when needed and travel overnight as required.
• Market products to builders and real estate offices.
• Develop mortgage leads in builder communities and offices.
• Provide weekend coverage at build sites/events like grand openings.
• Review documents for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to QC policies and participate in meetings.
• Provide input to management and attend staff meetings.
• Assist with post-closing/funding issues when needed.
• Attend loan closings when possible.
