Job summary

Liberty FCU is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join the lending team in the Jacksonville, FL area. The role requires strong communication, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to generate mortgage business through self-sourced activities. Prior mortgage loan sales experience is preferred.

The position emphasizes building relationships with realtors and referral partners while adhering to regulatory guidelines and continuing education wherever required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2-3 years mortgage origination experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to discuss loan details with clients.
• Knowledge of various loan products and underwriting guidelines.
• Ability to obtain NMLS registration and stay compliant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request supporting documentation for loan approval.
• Evaluate credit of prospective borrowers for qualification purposes.
• Diligently pursue leads and contact prospective borrower leads via telephone, email, or face to face.
• Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Prospect and network, building relationships with realtors, builders and other referral partners.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and regulatory rules.
