Job summary

Regions is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to direct residential loan origination through a branch network. The role involves taking applications, evaluating requests, and coordinating with processing and underwriting to close loans.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of mortgage lending experience, with proven ability to develop external referral sources. Commission-based pay with potential to earn substantial cash incentives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production.
• Experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).

Responsibilities

• Complete mortgage applications for submission to loan processing and underwriting.
• Evaluate loan requests, analyze financial data, and determine qualification of collateral and credit history.
• Maintain contact with loan customers, updating progress and obtaining required documentation.
• Structure loans to comply with lending practices and regulations.
• Develop detailed marketing plan and establish contacts with potential and existing customers.
• Answer calls and walk-in customers to discuss loan products and qualifications.
• Make sales calls to develop new business or retain existing customers.
• Cross-sell other bank products and services.
• Review surveys and appraisals and address encroachments/violations.
