Job summary

Regions is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer in Houston to originate residential mortgage loans via branch network and grow external business through referrals. This full-time role offers commission-based earnings and requires NMLS registration.

Responsibilities include preparing applications, evaluating credits, guiding customers, and cross-selling bank products while adhering to regulations and guidelines. Prior mortgage production is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of mortgage lending experience with proven production.
• Experience developing external business via referrals (realtors, builders, financial planners).

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to processing and underwriting.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, communicating progress and collecting documentation.
• Structures loan to comply with lending practices and Federal regulations.
• Develops detailed marketing/business plan including potential and existing customers and frequency of contact.
• Answers customer calls and walk-in discussions about loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing business.
• Cross-sells other bank products and services.
• Reads surveys and appraisals and addresses encroachments/violations.
• May participate in networking through professional and community organizations to promote loan products.
