Job summary

Regions Bank in Gulfport, MS is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to direct the origination of residential mortgage loans through our branch network. You will complete applications, evaluate requests, and maintain customer contact to ensure timely documentation and approvals.

The role requires mortgage production experience, strong relationship building, and knowledge of regulations. This position offers a commission-based pay structure with potential for higher earnings based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production.
• Experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to loan processing and underwriting.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, communicates progress and documents required.
• Structures loan to comply with lending practices and Federal regulations.
• Develops detailed marketing plan, including referral sources and contact frequency.
• Responds to customer inquiries about loan products and qualification.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing customers.
• Cross-sells other Regions bank products and services.
• Reviews surveys and appraisals and addresses encroachments/violations.
