Job summary

True Financial Lending is seeking a full-time Mortgage Loan Officer to work on-site in Detroit, MI. You will meet with clients, assess financial needs, present mortgage products, and guide borrowers through the loan process from application to closing.

The ideal candidate has prior loan officer experience, knowledge of conventional, non-traditional and HELOC products, and a solid understanding of underwriting standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Loan Officer originating and managing residential mortgage loans.
• Knowledge of Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices including conventional, non-traditional, and HELOC products.
• Understanding of Underwriting standards and ability to evaluate borrower creditworthiness and documentation.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and guide clients through complex financial decisions.
• State-appropriate MLO license or eligibility to obtain one, and familiarity with federal and state lending regulations.
• Effective time management, organizational, and follow-up skills to handle multiple files and deadlines.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems and basic office software; comfort working with financial data and documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
