Job summary

Dream Finders Homes is seeking a results-driven Loan Originator who can generate new business and referrals while maintaining relationships with clients and referral partners. The role requires mortgage industry experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work 8am-5pm EST with on-call weekends.

You will collaborate with loan officers, processors, underwriters, and title teams to ensure smooth closings and provide excellent client service throughout the loan

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a mortgage loan originator.
• NMLS licensure in VA or MD.
• Experience with Encompass.
• Willingness to participate in weekend on-call (1–2x/month).
• Strong relationship, sales, communication, and MS Office skills.
• Understanding of loan program guidelines (Conventional, FHA, VA, down-payment assistance).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to move loan Transactions through.
• Monitor sales pipeline and generate new business opportunities.
• Build personal relationships with clients and answer questions about mortgage products.
• Create and explain mortgage coach presentations (total cost analyses).
• Package files for loan openers/processing staff.
• Lock loans, structure files, and review closing disclosures with clients.

Note: Candidates must be able to work a schedule of 8am-5pm EST and participate in a weekend on-call rotation 1-2x/month.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g. loan officer assistant, loan opener, loan processor, underwriter, referral partners, escrow, title, etc.) on behalf of the applicant as needed to make sure the loan transaction goes through successfully
• Monitor sales pipeline, meet sales expectations/SLAs, get referrals, and generate new business opportunities
• Create personal relationships with clients - offer additional information and answer questions about home mortgage products
• Create and explain mortgage coach presentations for clients (total cost analyses)
• Package files to send to the loan openers/processing staff
• Lock loans, structure files, and review final closing disclosures (CDs) with clients

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ year of experience as a mortgage loan originator
• Licensure with the NMLS in either VA or MD
• Experience with Encompass
• Willingness and ability to participate in a weekend on-call schedule rotation 1-2x/month
• Superb relationship, sales, communication, and MS Office skills
• Intermediate understanding of loan program guidelines and various types of loans such as Conventional, FHA, VA, and down-payment assistance loans

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• 3+ years of experience as a mortgage loan originator
• Licensure with the NMLS in VA, MD, and any other states
• Experience with Encompass, Simple Nexus, AND Optimal Blue
• Willingness and ability to participate in a weekend on-call schedule rotation 1-2x/month
• Superb relationship, sales, communication, and MS Office skills
• Intermediate understanding of loan program guidelines and various types of loans such as Conventional, FHA, VA, and down-payment assistance loans
