Job summary

First Bank, Upper Michigan is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Clerk to support loan officers in preparing documentation, maintaining files, and following up on items.

You will assist with mortgage and consumer loan tasks, ensure compliance with BSA and regulatory training, and handle administrative duties while upholding confidentiality. Hours are Monday–Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High level of assistance, reliability and self-motivation.
• Ability to work with a variety of personnel, customers and businesses.
• Excellent clerical skills along with numerical aptitude.
• Excellent organization, follow-through skills necessary.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and bank software program.
• Must be or become Notary.
• Professionalism and confidentiality must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Acquire information and prepare proper loan documentation to perform the mechanics of the loan process.
• Prepare and maintain files as well as follow up on pending items.
• Assist with mortgage and consumer lending tasks and support other loan staff.
• Comply with BSA requirements and complete mandatory compliance training.
• Assume and accomplish other duties as directed or self-initiated.
