Job summary

Liberty FCU is hiring a Mortgage Loan Originator for the Burkhardt office in Evansville, IN. You will conduct loan interviews, evaluate qualifications, and drive loan volume through outside business development.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (preferred), 2–3 years of mortgage origination, excellent communication, and knowledge of loan products. NMLS registration is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2–3 years mortgage origination experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to talk to clients about loan details.
• Strong mathematical and statistical analysis ability.
• Knowledge of terms and conditions of different kinds of loans.
• Ability to obtain federal registration/NMLS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request documentation for loan approval.
• Evaluate credit of prospective borrowers for qualification purposes.
• Diligently pursue leads provided.
• Contact prospective borrower leads via telephone, email, or face to face.
• Evaluate credit and financial status to determine mortgage proposals.
• Understand and apply all Federal and NCUA regulatory rules and regulations.
• Make sales calls through face to face and phone contact with borrowers.
• Maintain knowledge of loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
• Prospect and network with realtors, builders and other referral partners.
