Job summary

East West Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Advisor in California to proactively develop a strong referral network and manage the full mortgage origination process. You will meet clients, assess their needs, collect documents, and guide the loan from application to closing, while cross-selling bank services.

Qualifications include a BA/BS in Finance or related field, 3+ years in mortgage lending, and NMLS registration.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Finance, Economic, Accounting, or related field.
3+ years' experience in mortgage lending.
Experience with direct client service in a financial setting preferred.
Working knowledge of agency loan guidelines (e.g., Fannie Mae).
Understanding regulatory requirements related to mortgage loan and HELOC processing.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
NMLS registration under the SAFE Act required.

Responsibilities

Generate business through direct marketing to outside sources (realtors, builders, attorneys, professionals).
Participate in all steps of mortgage origination with clients (meetings, counseling, applications, documents, conditions).
Cross-sell bank services to clients and maintain contact through the process.
Maintain knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Coordinate with mortgage operations from application to closing.
May contact borrowers for loan retention as needed.
