Job summary

East West Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Advisor in California who will proactively build a strong network of business relationships and deliver an exceptional lending experience focused on client satisfaction.

The Mortgage Loan Advisor will originate loans, meet prospects, counsel borrowers, collect documents, and coordinate with operations through closing, while staying current on lending programs and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Economic, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in mortgage lending.
• Experience with direct client service in a financial setting is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of agency loan guidelines, such as Fannie Mae.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements related to mortgage loan and home equity line of credit processing.
• Strong organization skills.
• Strong adaptability to procedural and system evolutions changes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• NMLS registration under the SAFE Act.

Responsibilities

• Generate business through direct marketing to outside sources such as realtors, builders, attorneys, and professionals in the assigned areas to develop the mortgage business.
• Participate in all steps related to the origination of a mortgage loan, including meeting prospects, counseling borrowers, taking applications, collecting documents, and satisfying loan conditions.
• Cross-sells and promotes the Bank and its services to clients.
• Maintain contacts with clients throughout the application process to keep them advised of status.
• Maintain current knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with mortgage operations teams from application through closing.
• Perform other duties including contacting borrowers for loan retention.
