Job summary

The Mortgage Law Firm in Portland, Oregon is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support foreclosure litigation defense, title curative, and loss mitigation efforts. You will assist Attorneys by preparing pleadings, motions, and notices, and by filing documents with courts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a law firm, preferably one that specializes in real estate matters.
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program; an Associate degree, or equivalent combination preferred.
• Mortgage Servicer experience preferred but not required.
• Computer skills with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Westlaw, PACER, ECF.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research in relation to foreclosure litigation matters.
• Research and retrieve documents from client databases.
• Update information in client databases and case management system.
• Organize and maintain case files and materials.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, petitions, notices, and orders.
• File documents with various courts.
• Prepare correspondence to clients, parties, and non-parties.
• Schedule and monitor court hearing dates and deadlines.
• Understand court procedures and local rules.
• Maintain a well-organized calendar and assist in managing attorney calendars.
• Track hourly billable time worked as required.
• Participate in cross-training and backup tasks as needed.
• Manage high volume of client compliance requirements and deadlines.
