RIHousing in Providence, RI is seeking a Foreclosure Bankruptcy Specialist to join our hybrid Loan Servicing team. The role focuses on managing bankruptcy and foreclosure activities in compliance with applicable laws, investor and insurer regulations, and guidelines to minimize financial risk and RI Housing exposure.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certification preferred; associate’s degree in business admin or related field.
• Five years’ experience in mortgage collections, foreclosure and bankruptcy preferred.
• Knowledge of CFPB and FDCPA regulations, and government-insured loans (FHA/VA/Freddie/Fannie).
• Strong negotiations, communications, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer foreclosure and bankruptcy activities in loan servicing per policies and guidelines.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and prepare foreclosure referrals for review.
• Prepare and validate bankruptcy proofs of claim and related notices for filing.
• Coordinate with legal counsel to initiate foreclosure and bankruptcy actions.
• Review bankruptcy filings to determine debtor’s intent and required servicing actions.
• Maintain accurate records in loan servicing systems and produce reports.
• Cross-train in other loan servicing functions and support special projects.
