Job summary

Rhode Island Housing in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking a dedicated Foreclosure Bankruptcy Specialist to join the Loan Servicing Department. This full-time, hybrid role focuses on managing bankruptcy and foreclosure activities in compliance with applicable laws, investor and insurer regulations, and established guidelines.

The position supports face-to-face collaboration within our Loan Servicing team, with responsibilities spanning referrals, legal coordination, and comprehensive reporting

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certification preferred.
• Five years' experience in mortgage collections, foreclosure, and bankruptcy preferred.
• Knowledge of CFPB and FDCPA regulations and government-insured loans is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer foreclosure and bankruptcy activities in accordance with internal policies and guidelines.
• Monitor delinquent accounts and prepare foreclosure referral recommendations.
• Coordinate with foreclosure and bankruptcy legal counsel to initiate foreclosure proceedings.
• Calculate, reconcile, and prepare bankruptcy proofs of claim and related notices.
• Review bankruptcy filings and plans to determine debtor's intent and plan feasibility.
• Maintain foreclosure and bankruptcy workstations and update reporting.
