Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. is seeking a diligent Consumer Real Estate Servicing specialist to manage delinquent mortgage portfolios within the bank’s collections team.

You will follow investor and regulatory guidelines, communicate with borrowers by phone and mail, document actions, and ensure compliant handling of state and federal rules while supporting a collaborative, values-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Keyboarding, PC proficiency and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with collection, foreclosure and bankruptcy laws and fair debt collection practices.

Responsibilities

• Work and maintain past due portfolio consumer real estate loans assigned queue within collections module to reduce mortgage delinquency, apply funds to delinquent accounts, and determine need for appropriate assistance based on communications by telephone, written, or on an isolated occasion in person
• Collect past due portfolio consumer real estate loans by telephone, or on an isolated occasion in person
• Collect past due secondary market and guarantor mortgages by telephone and written communication according to investor guidelines; may meet with past due borrower as needed
• Handle inbound and outbound collection calls professionally and efficiently
• Prepare and mail notifications to delinquent borrowers per investor guidelines
• Utilize collections module to document all collection efforts maintaining accurate records
• Comply with applicable regulations including FDCPA, RESPA, SCRA, Dodd-Frank (UDAAP)
• Comply with bankruptcy laws and regulations to ensure accounts are handled per plan
• Maintain ongoing knowledge of laws and internal controls and complete training timely
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• As an integral member of the Consumer Real Estate Servicing Department, assist the department in achieving goals
