Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Consumer Real Estate Collections specialist to manage delinquent mortgage accounts and coordinate communications with borrowers, investors, and guarantors. You will work across guidelines to reduce delinquencies and document all actions in the system.

The role emphasizes compliance with FDCPA, RESPA, and bankruptcy rules, along with maintaining current knowledge of applicable laws and internal controls. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Work and maintain past due portfolio consumer real estate loans within collections.
• Collect past due portfolio consumer real estate loans by telephone and, occasionally, in person.
• Collect past due secondary market and guarantor mortgages per investor guidelines.
• Handle inbound and outbound collection calls professionally and efficiently.
• Prepare and mail notifications to delinquent borrowers per guidelines.
• Document all collection efforts in the collections system.
• Comply with FDCPA, RESPA, SCRA, Dodd-Frank and related laws.
• Comply with bankruptcy laws and ensure accounts are handled per plan.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and company policies; complete training timely.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
