Job summary

Weichert Financial Services in Ocean County, NJ seeks a Mortgage Advisor who partners with Realtors and referral networks to originate residential loans. This role goes beyond loan origination, engaging clients from prequalification through closing and collaborating with the Office Manager to convert leads.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of retail mortgage origination, a state loan originator license, strong communication and math skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State loan originator license(s) required for states of origination.
• 1–3 years of retail mortgage loan origination experience preferred.
• Ability to determine rate quotes and maximum qualifications per investor guidelines.
• Ability to apply investor guidelines to sales situations and recommend suitable products.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops relationships with customers, realtors, builders, attorneys, and referral partners.
• Leverages personal network to generate leads and follows up on leads from company sources.
• Issues fully assessed pre-approvals including income, credit, and property standards.
• Provides needs analysis and accurate rate quotes for each program.
• Submits complete mortgage loan applications for underwriting consideration.
• Keeps abreast of market changes affecting loan products.
• Communicates with all participants during loan origination and closing.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws, company policies, and investor guidelines.
• Updates lead portals, CRM, and tracking software regularly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
