Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana is seeking a Morning Youth Development Professional (YDP) for the Portage Club in Portage, IN. The role runs Monday–Friday before school, with duties to welcome youth, assist with school prep, and provide homework support in a safe, positive setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with youth, and the ability to motivate and supervise in a remote site location, with CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college education preferred.
• Experience working with youth, especially elementary school age.
• Knowledge of youth development and safety expectations.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior effectively.
• Capable of organizing and supervising youth in a safe environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and create a positive environment each morning.
• Help members prepare for the school day and ensure they have what they need.
• Provide homework assistance and academic support as needed.
• Encourage positive behavior and school readiness.
• Build positive relationships and serve as a supportive role model.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment.
• Follow safety and program expectations and work as part of the Club team.
