Job summary

Boys & Girls Club Of Greater Northwest Indiana is seeking a Youth Development Professional (YDP) to plan, implement, and supervise engaging programs for youth at the Hammond Club. The role focuses on academic, social-emotional, and physical development in a safe, inclusive environment.

You will work afternoons (1pm–7pm), five days a week with occasional weekend shifts for rentals, supporting grant outcomes and youth leadership across Arts, STEM, Sports, and Cafeteria areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate programming in assigned areas (Arts, STEM, Sports & Recreation, Games, Cafeteria).
• Build positive relationships with youth and serve as a mentor and role model.
• Monitor grant-aligned outcomes, attendance, and data.
• Maintain safe, clean program spaces and follow safety policies.
• Collaborate with Club leadership and staff on events and field trips.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Some college education preferred

Previous youth work experience

CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)

Pass criminal history background check

Pass drug screen

Authorized to work in the US
