Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana is seeking a Morning Youth Development Professional (YDP) for the Portage Club in Portage, IN. The role runs Monday–Friday before school, with duties to welcome youth, assist with school prep, and provide homework support in a safe, positive setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with youth, and the ability to motivate and supervise in a remote site location, with CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college education preferred.
• Experience working with youth, especially elementary school age.
• Knowledge of youth development and safety expectations.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior effectively.
• Capable of organizing and supervising youth in a safe environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.

Morning Youth Development Professional (YDP)Portage Club 5895 Evergreen Ave., Portage, IN 46368Part-Time Monday–Friday, 6:20 AM–8:30 AMThe Morning Youth Development Professional (YDP) helps provide members with a safe, welcoming, and positive start to their school day. This position supports youth as they prepare for school, assists with completing homework when needed, and helps members begin their day feeling prepared, confident, and successful.Key Responsibilities:Welcome members and create a positive environment each morning.Help members prepare for the school day and ensure they have what they need before leaving for school.Provide homework assistance and academic support as needed.Encourage positive behavior, good decision-making, and school readiness.Build positive relationships with members and serve as a supportive role model.Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment.Follow Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana safety, supervision, and program expectations.Work as part of the Club team to support the overall success and well-being of members.The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, positive, and enjoys working with school-age youth.
