Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is hiring a full-time Cook at the Mattawan location (Bronson Commons). The role involves preparing and delivering meals, serving patients and staff, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety.

Shifts start early (5:30am) and include every other weekend. The position offers a sign-on and retention bonus for external candidates and opportunities to contribute to a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and understand basic verbal and written directions.
• Follow basic food assembly & packaging instructions and read/understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and serve foods and supplies to customers, patients, and facilities.
• Deliver meals and supplies to patients.
• Perform light and heavy cleaning including dishwashing and facility cleaning.
• Operate cash register and patient meal ordering system(s).
• Stock and label products, ensure dating and rotation.
• Prepare and portion food items according to recipes and standards.
• Handle ingredients with proper prep, washing, chopping and measuring.
• Use kitchen appliances and utensils safely and effectively.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.
