Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts at The Hotel at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA seeks a guest-focused server to provide excellent service and menu knowledge. You will take orders, input them into the POS, and deliver meals with precision while promoting specials and maintaining cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers as a team.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30lbs. through a crowded room.
• Operate beverage and toast equipment as needed.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Adapt communication style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
• Greet guests and explain specials/promotions.
• Record guest orders, verify accuracy.
• Input orders into POS and inform kitchen.
• Retrieve and deliver orders with accuracy and condiments.
• Abide by state and corporate beverage service requirements.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Market and serve desserts or specialty coffees.
• Close out the check using POS.
• Present the check promptly and accurately.
• Adhere to attendance rules and work schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
