Job summary

Grand Island Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Custodian at the Kneale Administration Building. This 4 hours per day (6:00am-10:00am), 12-month position requires prior custodial experience and offers a training wage of $18.53 per hour.

Under supervision, you will perform general cleaning, maintenance, and support for students, staff and visitors. Occasional travel between buildings may be required during duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to perform the duties of the position.
• Previous custodial or building maintenance experience desirable.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas per district standards.
• Sweeps, mops, buffs, strips, and waxes floors.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstery and blinds; washes walls, ceilings and windows.
• Receives deliveries and delivers supplies to classrooms and other areas.
