Job summary

North Platte Public Schools is seeking a Custodian to cover Lincoln Elementary (.05) and Lake Elementary (.05) in North Platte, Nebraska. Immediate starting date with a choice of full-time or two part-time positions, salary $15–$16 per hour, and an Oct 02, 2026 application deadline.

The Custodian will maintain a clean, safe, sanitary environment for students and staff, handle routine cleaning, building maintenance, and related duties to support school operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to interact appropriately with students, staff, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors.
• Clean windows, doors, walls, fixtures, and furniture.
• Empty waste and recycling containers and dispose of materials.
• Respond promptly to spills and accidents.
• Perform additional cleaning during breaks and as assigned.
