Job summary

Grand Island Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Custodian at Stolley Park Elementary for a part-time, year-round role from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. You will perform cleaning and maintenance tasks under the supervision of the principal, facilities director, and business manager.

Experience in custodial work is preferred. Training wage is $19.03/hr, including a $0.50 shift differential. Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to work with students and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or acceptable education level.
• Prior custodial/maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure building at start/end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
• Clean rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices and other areas per district standards.
• Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors; clean windows and walls.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties and snow/ice removal as needed.
• Receive deliveries and stock/classroom distribution of supplies.
• Help with setup for events and programs.
• Follow safety rules and wear appropriate PPE.
