Job summary

Marion Independent School District is seeking a PM Bus Attendant to assist the bus driver in the morning and ensure safe transportation for students. The role supports PBIS, monitors student behavior, and helps create a secure environment during transit.

This part-time position requires a high school diploma, strong communication, and the ability to work with children; CPR/First Aid may be required. Salary is $15.50 per hour with a guaranteed 1-hour minimum and up to 40 hours weekly for current

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Physical ability to assist students and handle emergencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and ability to work with children of all ages and abilities.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification may be required (training provided by the district).

Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior and ensure PBIS and bus rules are followed.
• Assist students with boarding/exiting and ensure they remain seated safely.
• Provide assistance to students with disabilities or special needs.
• Maintain attendance and incident records; communicate with staff.
• Assist in emergency evacuations and provide basic first aid when needed.
