Job summary

The Woodlands Resort, Curio Collection in the Houston area is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare food of consistent quality and assist in all kitchen functions. You will follow recipe cards, initiate timely prep, rotate perishables, check stock, maintain equipment cleanliness, and help keep buffets stocked while delivering great guest service.

This role requires dexterity, the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, reliable attendance, and a collaborative work style in a fast-paced resort

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start timely prep and manage portions.
• Date and rotate perishables to HEI standards.
• Check pars for shift use and plan prep accordingly.
• Note out-of-stock items and assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Return unused items to storage with proper dating.
• Help implement actions to reduce food costs and waste.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment.
• Attend regularly and be flexible with schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
