Job summary

Mitch Park YMCA in Edmond, OK is seeking Lifeguards to ensure a safe and welcoming pool environment from 5 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday. Starting pay is $12.00 per hour, with on-the-job training available for those without lifeguard experience.

Join our Aquatics Team and help swimmers build confidence and experience in the water while upholding Y policies and safety standards. This is a growth opportunity within a community-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid (Training provided by the Y).
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent nationally recognized certification.

Responsibilities

• Must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure safety of all swimmers.
• Must be able to move with the use of both arms and legs and to properly use aquatic equipment to rescue a 200-pound person.
• Able to read, write and do basic math.
• Able to communicate verbally, including projecting the voice across distances.
• Remain physically able to demonstrate and perform rescue and lifesaving skills.
