Job summary

The University of Virginia Facilities Management Department is seeking Custodial staff for early morning shifts in the McCormick zone, on-site in Charlottesville, VA. Qualifications

• Basic housekeeping experience is preferred and may be required.
• Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and directions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain offices, classrooms, restrooms, public areas in clean condition.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers.
• Remove trash, clean bathrooms, wipe surfaces, dust, vacuum, and mop; mix cleaning solutions as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly housekeeping closets; inventory supplies and request more as needed.
• Report repairs, pest control needs, and any housekeeping-related violations.
• May perform minor maintenance tasks like changing lightbulbs.
• Other duties as assigned.
