The Plaza at Lubbock in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Cook (Morning) who is passionate about creating quality food for our residents. The role involves preparing meals per menus and recipes, ensuring proper storage, supervising serving staff, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to superior clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and supportive services.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card or local certified food safety certification required.
• Fundamental sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene knowledge.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Regular, predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares foods according to standardized recipes and production worksheets.
• Ensures correct portion control and plating according to guidelines.
• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.
• Cleans and arranges food storage areas and keeps the kitchen orderly.
• Assists other departments to ensure timely production and service.
• Handles closing duties for the kitchen per policy.
