Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Facility in Carthage, TX, is seeking a Cook who is passionate about quality resident meals. The role involves following menus and recipes, supervising service, and maintaining sanitation in a rehabilitative care setting.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution.
• Food handlers’ card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Must be able to tactfully communicate with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
• Must have regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows guidelines for food handling and storage.
• Tests and records temperatures of hot and cold foods; corrects negative results to supervisor.
• Properly discards expired or contaminated food times.
• Performs and enforces hand washing, gloves, and hair restraints.
• Complies with infection control policies and uses protective wear.
• Follows standardized recipes and production worksheets to prepare meals.
• Ensure meals are served within serving hours and quality is maintained.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and equipment; manage storage areas.
