Job summary

The Courtyard New Haven at Yale is seeking a Morning Bistro Attendant to greet guests, stock the breakfast area, and maintain a clean, inviting dining space each morning.

You will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, deliver friendly service, and support the Food & Beverage team while upholding standards and safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates enjoy hospitality, communicate clearly in English, and can work early shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet hotel guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Set up and prepare the bistro and breakfast area prior to opening.
• Prepare, replenish, and maintain breakfast stations throughout the morning.
• Ensure displays are attractive, well-stocked, and presented to standards.
• Monitor food levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.
• Provide guests with information about available food and beverage offerings.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet hotel guests in a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic manner

• Set up and prepare the bistro and breakfast area prior to opening

• Prepare, replenish, and maintain breakfast food and beverage stations throughout the morning

• Ensure food and beverage displays are attractive, well-stocked, and presented according to hotel standards

• Monitor food levels and communicate replenishment or supply needs to management

• Provide guests with information about available food and beverage offerings

• Assist guests with questions, requests, and special needs in a courteous and timely manner

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, counters, serving areas, and the overall bistro throughout service

• Clear and reset tables promptly to ensure a clean and welcoming dining environment

• Follow proper food handling, storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures

• Monitor buffet and food service areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards

• Restock condiments, utensils, napkins, beverages, and other bistro supplies as needed

• Assist with basic food preparation as directed

• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to hotel uniform and grooming standards

• Complete opening and closing duties, including cleaning and organizing the bistro and service areas

• Communicate guest feedback, maintenance concerns, and operational needs to the appropriate manager

• Work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage and hotel teams to provide an exceptional guest experience

• Act with the highest level of integrity in every decision

Requirements

• Previous food service, hospitality, hotel, or customer service experience is ideal, but we are willing to train the right person

• Friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest service

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with guests and colleagues

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a TEAM-oriented environment

• Ability to safely handle food and follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment

• Ability to multitask and stay calm and professional during busy breakfast periods

• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform routine lifting, carrying, and stocking duties

• Ability to work an early morning schedule, including weekends and holidays

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing a positive guest experience

Compensation

$18.00 per hour + tips

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form (Form I-9) upon hire.
