Job summary

SpringHill Suites New Orleans Downtown/Canal Street is seeking a Breakfast Server to help create memorable dining experiences for guests. You will use enthusiasm and attentiveness to set the tone for a welcoming service and guide guests through our modern menu offerings.

The role requires 2+ years of server experience and strong English communication. Early morning to early afternoon shifts apply, with potential growth through the Management Development Program and advancement within the Food &

• 2+ years server experience or related food service work.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work early morning to early afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare restaurant tables with attention to sanitation and order.
• Attend to customers upon entrance to the restaurant.
• Present menus and be knowledgeable of contents and offerings.
• Verify guests' IDs to ensure age requirements for alcohol.
• Understand menu prices and item components; know daily specials.
• Coordinate with serving and kitchen staff to deliver service.
• Adhere to health regulations and customer service guidelines.
• Dress in event staff uniform and maintain professional appearance.
• Act with integrity in every decision.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order
• Attend to customers upon entrance to the restaurant
• Present menus and be knowledgeable of menu contents, recipes, and restaurant offerings
• Verify guests' identification to ensure they meet age requirements for alcohol consumption
• Have basic knowledge of menu prices, composition of items, preparation techniques, and time of preparation. Must be familiar with daily specials and offers to guests
• Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff
• Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
• Dress in appropriate event staff uniform at all times, while also maintaining professional appearance
• Act with the highest level of integrity in every decision

Requirements:

• Prior 2+ years server experience
• Must be able to work early morning to early afternoon
• Hyatt brand experience is beneficial
• Knowledge of retail math for handling cash transactions
• A genuine passion for the culinary arts, food, and beverage, with a willingness to continuously learn and grow
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build genuine connections with guests and colleagues
• Familiarity with basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating drink prices
• Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure, ensuring efficient service even during peak dining hour
• Excellent English communication skills and able to read, write and speak fluently
