Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead daily kitchen management, ensure food quality and safety, and drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, seasonal setting.

The role focuses on hands-on leadership, staff supervision, and collaboration with the Chef to maintain high standards during peak service, with opportunities to influence menu and seasonal offerings. Flexible weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as Line Cook or Prep Cook
• 1+ years of experience as Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager
• Formal Culinary Training/Degree
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, executing, and maintaining high-quality, consistent food offerings
• Execute menus efficiently during peak service periods
• Support menu development, specials and seasonal offerings with Chef
• Supervise and lead kitchen staff (cooks, prep, dish team)
• Train new hires on production, food safety and kitchen procedures
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
