Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Moodle administrator to join our education technology team in the United States. You will administer, configure, and maintain the Moodle LMS to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.

As part of the role, you will gather requirements from stakeholders, support integrations with SIS and other enterprise tools, and develop LMS reports and dashboards to measure student engagement and course effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience supporting or administering a Learning Management System (preferably Moodle)
• Experience with systems analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation
• Knowledge of SQL, data reporting tools, and system integrations
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the Moodle LMS environment
• Monitor system performance, uptime, and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to LMS functionality
• Manage user roles, permissions, and course structures
• Gather and document functional and technical requirements from stakeholders
• Analyze business processes and recommend LMS-based solutions
• Translate academic and administrative needs into system configurations
• Support integration between Moodle and enterprise systems (e.g., SIS, authentication systems, third-party tools)
• Collaborate with developers on custom plugins, APIs, and automation
• Manage updates, patches, and version upgrades
• Develop and maintain LMS reports and dashboards
• Support data analysis related to student engagement, retention, and course effectiveness
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with institutional policies
• Provide training and support to faculty and staff on Moodle features and best practices
• Create and maintain user guides, documentation, and knowledge base articles
