Job summary

Lake Country School in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a full-time Children's House Co-Guide to partner with another Co-Guide in preparing and maintaining a Montessori classroom. You will give Montessori presentations, observe and record each child’s progress, and communicate with families in coordination with the Children's House Director.

Montessori credential at AMI/AMS or enrollment in progress, 3 years of experience with ages 2.5–6, DHS background clearance, and a calm, collaborative leadership

Qualifications

• Montessori credential at primary/Children's House level (AMI or AMS) or actively enrolled with completion expected within an agreed timeframe.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with children ages 2.5 to 6 in a Montessori environment.
• Eligibility for Minnesota DHS background study clearance.
• Comfort co-teaching: sharing lesson responsibility and daily decisions with a Co-Guide.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a complete, orderly classroom environment inclusive of all learning abilities and give Montessori presentations.
• Observe and record progress using Transparent Classroom and adjust the environment accordingly for each child.
• Guide with calm authority: set expectations through Grace and Courtesy lessons and protect uninterrupted work periods.
• Partner with families and the school community: communicate promptly, conduct Parent/Teacher Conferences, and participate in meetings.
