Job summary

Lake Country School in Minnesota is seeking a Children's House Co-Guide to partner with another Co-Guide in preparing an authentic Montessori environment, presenting lessons, observing each child, and documenting progress.

The role is full-time, exempt, with duties including classroom preparation, Montessori presentations, individualized observations, communicating with families, and participating in staff meetings. Minnesota DHS background clearance is required; credentialed or in process.

Qualifications

• Montessori credential at the primary/Children's House level (AMI or AMS) or actively enrolled with completion expected within an agreed timeframe.
• At least 3 years of experience working with children ages 2.5 to 6 in a Montessori environment.
• Eligibility for a Minnesota DHS background study clearance.
• Comfort co-teaching: sharing lesson responsibility and daily decisions with a Co-Guide.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a Montessori classroom environment, complete and inclusive of all learning abilities.
• Give effective, precise Montessori presentations.
• Plan lessons reflecting individual needs of each child.
• Observe and record progress in Transparent Classroom and adjust environment accordingly.
• Communicate expectations and maintain uninterrupted work periods with Grace and Courtesy.
• Engage families and participate in meetings and conferences.
