Lee Montessori Public Charter School in Washington, DC, seeks a Campus Aide to provide coverage and support across PK3–6th grade during the school day. The role helps maintain routines and fosters a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

The Campus Aide will substitute in classrooms, supervise students in various areas, assist with daily setup and materials, attend trainings, and collaborate with staff to ensure quality programming and smooth operation of events.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of student development principles and developmentally appropriate educational practices.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with staff, parents, and students positively and constructively.
• Ability to communicate clearly with children and adults.
• Strong organization, communication, and time management skills.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficient or willing to learn Google Suite for recordkeeping and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support learning environments and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Serve as a substitute in a classroom when another staff member is absent.
• Supervise students in classrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds and other areas as needed.
• Move flexibly between classrooms according to Lee’s needs.
• Support school events and instructional activities as assigned.
• Prepare and reset Montessori classroom environment and materials daily.
• Discuss observations with the appropriate teaching staff.
• Take attendance and input daily into an online record-keeping system.
