Job summary

California Montessori Project is seeking a Substitute to assist in classrooms at the Shingle Springs campus. The role reports to the Human Resources & Payroll Department and works under the guidance of the Campus Principal.

The Substitute helps implement lessons, supports students including those with special needs, and upholds safety and inclusivity standards. The position requires an Associates Degree or equivalent education units or eligibility for paraprofessional certification.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to work with students of diverse abilities.
• Familiarity with classroom routines and safety expectations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the classroom with all students, including those needing special education support.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Prepare, organize, and manage classroom materials and activities.
• Model positive social interactions and report incidents to teachers or administration.
• Monitor classrooms for safety and student engagement, and follow up as needed.
