Job summary

City Garden Montessori School is seeking an Elementary Assistant Guide to support the Lead Guide in delivering Montessori instruction with a strong anti-bias/anti-racist approach. The role requires patience, respect for children, and collaboration with staff to maintain a joyful, orderly learning environment.

You will support individual students and small groups, help prepare instructional materials, and assist in data collection and behavior observation to inform lesson planning.

Qualifications

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom in alignment with Lead Guide’s lessons.
• Encourage independence and model appropriate manners and behaviors.
• Work with individuals or small groups as directed by Lead Guide.
• Supervise students in hall, lunchroom, playground, and extended day programs.
• Maintain behavior management strategies aligned to Montessori context.
• Assist in preparation/production of instructional materials.
• Observe, record, and chart behavior with Lead Guide.”
• Assist in data collection and record keeping.
